China agrees to test two vaccines for Corona virus

 China recently agreed to clinical trials of two vaccines to treat the Corona virus, Reuters news agency reported early on Tuesday.

 Reuters quoted Xinhua news agency that Chinese medical authorities have given the green light to start human trials of two vaccines to combat the emerging corona virus, which has killed nearly 120,000 people worldwide.

 The vaccines are being developed by Sinovac Biotech in Beijing, in partnership with the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products under the State-owned China National Pharmaceutical Group.

 Last March, China gave the green light to test another vaccine for the deadly virus, developed by the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences and the "Cansino Bio" company, shortly after the drug development company Moderna announced the start of human tests for the deadly virus vaccine in partnership with the US National Institutes of Health.

 In its daily report, the Chinese Ministry of Health said on Tuesday that it had registered 89 new cases of coronavirus, compared to 108 the previous day.

 The National Health Commission reported that 86 of the new cases of people came from abroad, down from 98 the previous day. And the Chinese Radio and Television Corporation said earlier that 79 of the arriving cases were in the northeastern region, bordering Russia.

 This brings the total number of confirmed cases of corona in China to 82,249, while the death toll stood at 3,341, without any new deaths recorded, yesterday.

 The confirmed cases of the emerging coronavirus have touched two million cases worldwide, according to Sky News, announced early on Tuesday.

 Nearly 600,000 cases of Covid-19 have been diagnosed in the United States, according to figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University. And the Chinese Radio and Television Corporation said earlier that 79 of the arriving cases were in the northeastern region, bordering Russia.
